Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the culinary team at Jiao Wu Chinese Restaurant under the guidance of the Executive Chef.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chinese kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality and service standards.
  • Prepare and present authentic Chinese dishes with creativity and precision.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff to excel in their roles and uphold the restaurant’s standards.
  • Maintain inventory levels, monitor food costs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with suppliers to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef specializing in Chinese cuisine, preferably in a luxury resort or fine dining establishment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Creativity and passion for creating innovative dishes while honoring tradition.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
