Job Description:

A Director of Procurement has the responsibility for the overall procurement function of company’s self-managed properties purchasing function, leading on all procurement efforts to efficiently and effectively maximize value throughout the supply chain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all procurement activities of the company’s self-managed properties and headquarter to ensure its effectiveness, efficiency as well as adherence to all relevant regulations, industry best practice frameworks and good corporate governance principles applicable for SET listed companies.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain procurement strategies, standard of practices and execution plans to achieve corporate goals and strategic plans.
  • Conduct group volume bidding, Group agreement of strategic products and services.
  • Liaise with property’s GMs, Head of Financial Controllers and Purchasing Managers to align corporate procurement strategies with property’s inventory management, vendor sourcing & selection, negotiation and related purchasing functions.
  • Develop collaborative long-term partnerships with suppliers, contractors and outsourced service providers to improve cost efficiency,  meet legislative requirements and achieve high quality outcomes.
  • Ensure all approved purchase requisitions are processed in timely manner and recommend the most appropriate method of procurement.
  • Confer with vendors and suppliers (local, regional and international sources) to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule. Also obtain estimate value of goods and services through multiple quotations from reliable and competitive suppliers.
  • Verify detailed tender specifications and performance standards with the program and the operations teams to facilitate procurement of equipment, goods and services in strict compliance with the approved policy as well as the relevant donor requirements.
  • Organize procurement selection meetings to consider tender applications against approved technical specifications and with due regard to market price, cost, quality and speed of delivery as well as economy of operations.
  • Prepare purchase orders, obtaining authorized signatures and forward procurement documents to the Operations Finance Department for payment processing.
  • Follow up with suppliers and vendors and evaluate the delivery of approved supplies.
  • Ensure that the program is requesting and receiving customs exemptions for international procurements, where appropriate and applicable.
  • Establish, enhance and maintain competent procurement teams at headquarter and each of the company’s properties necessary to achieve short, medium and long-term corporate goals.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or similar relevant fields.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a procurement head with international hotel/resort operator at Cluster, Regional or head quarter level.
  • Experience in conducting group bidding of OSE, and group agreement of product and service.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with attention to details.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Expert knowledge of procurement tools & techniques.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant procurement software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills written and oral.
  • Good command of verbal and written Thai & English.
  • Assertive with strong negotiation skills.
